SHH’s developer client City & Provincial Properties purchased a site with a small existing cottage in Maida Vale, located within a conservation area, and commissioned SHH to create a new scheme for the site and obtain planning permission to demolish the existing property, both of which were successfully accomplished. The plot was double the width of the prevalent semi-detached properties in the street and SHH’s scheme therefore replicated the look and feel of those properties, but in a detached property format, to create a perfect fit for the street. The 7-bedroom house, with a passenger lift for all floors, included a basement with a pool and spa complex and three storeys above ground, along with off-street parking and attractive rear gardens, which conjoined a communal garden, giving an extensive and attractive rear aspect for the property.
