SHH was retained by Land Securities to work on the space-planning and interior concepts for 226 superluxe apartments, located within a former office block on Bressenden Place in London’s Victoria. The project, led by David Chipperfield Architects, involved the extension, conversion and refurbishment of Portland House: an existing, 28-storey office tower, in order to create a stunning and state-of-the-art residential scheme. SHH’s designs also encompassed all common parts (including pool, spa and business lounge), covering the whole occupier journey from front door to private space. The apartment designs were based on the concept of lateral living, with each apartment containing a series of multi-functional, monolithic walls to sub-divide the spaces, allowing each apartment to open up and shut down perimeter routes and aspects as desired. Luxury finishes and materials were combined with the latest technology to create one of London’s most desirable new residential addresses.
